CALL FOR SYMPOSIUM AND YIC

 

Symposium

 

The call for Symposium is now available. The 18th biennial meeting of APSN will be held in conjunction with the 27th Annual Meeting of the Korean Society for Brain and Neural Sciences (KSBNS) at Gyeongju HICO, Gyeongju, Korea from October 15 to 18, 2024. Each symposium will receive KRW 1 million (approximately USD 800) support in total. The participating speakers and chairs of selected symposia will also have their registration fees waived. The International Scientific Program Committee will select the symposia from submitted proposals, mainly from the Asia-Pacific regions (open invitation). Although it is not a requirement, it is encouraged to include speakers from different countries and consider the gender balance.
The submitted proposal should include the following:
a. The topic of the symposium
b. A one-page abstract
c. The reason(s) why the topic of the symposium is important
d. The names of the Chairperson and 3-4 speakers, confirming their willingness to participate and their lecture titles
e. Short CVs of the 3-4 speakers with a selection of up to 5 publications for each speaker
Both members and non-members are invited to submit the proposal. However, once the proposal is selected the Symposium Chairperson must be an APSN member before the meeting is held in October.

 

Young Investigator Colloquiums (YIC)

 

The call for APSN 2024 Young Investigator Colloquiums (YIC) is now open. It is KRW 0.5 million (approximately USD 400) per speaker of the YIC symposium. Download the application form [APSN2024 YIC Application Form] if you are interested. The submission deadline is on 21 February 2024.

These colloquia would feature young investigators mainly from the APSN regions and will be selected by the International Scientific Program Committee from submitted proposals (open invitation). Preference will be given to independent young investigators who are APSN members before 31 January 2024. The candidates should be either below 40 years of age or less than 10 years after Ph.D.
To apply, the candidates should submit the following:
a. The title of their contribution
b. A one-page abstract
c. Significance of the topic
d. A one-page CV
e. List of representative publications
